Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if somatic work is right for me?
Somatic work may be supportive if you are interested in developing a deeper relationship with your body, emotions, nervous system, and lived experience.
If you are curious about the work but unsure whether it is a fit, you are welcome to reach out with questions before scheduling.
Do I need to prepare anything before a session?
You don't need to arrive with a specific goal, story, or problem to solve. We can begin with what you're noticing in the present moment and allow the session to unfold from there. Curiosity is enough. We can take our time finding what feels meaningful to explore.
If there is something you have been noticing in your body, emotions, relationships, or daily life, you are welcome to bring it into the session.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever feels comfortable and allows you to move freely. Sessions may include movement, grounding, or changes in posture, so comfortable clothing is recommended.
How often should I schedule sessions?
The frequency of sessions depends on your needs, intentions, and capacity. Some people benefit from regular monthly sessions, while others prefer to meet less frequently. We can talk about what rhythm feels supportive for you.
What is your availability?
Sessions are available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at noon. Evening sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays may also be available for returning clients upon request. Please reach out to inquire about availability.
Do you accept insurance or offer a sliding scale?
At this time, I am unable to accept or bill insurance directly. Sessions are self-pay.
If financial circumstances are a barrier to working together, please reach out to me. I’m happy to explore available options with you.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Changes made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to the full session fee.
I understand that unexpected circumstances arise and will approach these situations with care and discretion. For rescheduling, I will do my best to find another time that works for you.
What if I’m running late?
Safety comes first. If you are running late, please let me know when it is safe to do so. Please do not text while operating a vehicle.
In most cases, if you are more than 15 minutes late, we will need to cancel or reschedule the session. This allows us to honor the time and space needed for the work. I will always consider the circumstances.
What if I’m sick?
Please prioritize your health and safety. If you are feeling unwell, let me know as soon as possible.
If you arrive for a session experiencing symptoms, I may ask that we cancel or reschedule rather than continue with the session. I appreciate your understanding as we work together to create a healthy and supportive space for everyone.
If you are unsure whether you should attend, please reach out and we can determine together whether rescheduling is the best option.
Can we wear masks?
You are always welcome to wear a mask during sessions at whatever level feels comfortable for you. I am also happy to wear a mask upon request.
If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, please cancel or reschedule your session rather than attending in person.
Is what we discuss confidential?
Your privacy is important to me. I hold what you share with care and respect and follow the ethics and scope of practice of somatic practitioners.
I do not share personal information or the content of our sessions without your consent, except in circumstances where disclosure may be required by law or necessary to address an immediate safety concern.
